Bloom where you are planted!

Good morning!

First and Foremost let me say, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! We’ve made it a WEEK into 2013. I hope your mood is still high and you are still optimistic about your resolutions. I’ll post later about goals/New Year’s Resolutions (NYRs). Today, I want to briefly remind everyone to bloom where you are planted! Allow me to warn you that most of the stuff I blog about you may have heard before. You may not even need to be reminded. I, on the other hand, enjoy frequent reminders that it is possible to succeed where I am with what I have. Hopefully, you agree! So on that note,

Bloom Where You Are Planted

2012 was a good year for me. I had good times, bad times, many reasons to smile and shed plenty tears… but the one thing I can say is that I survived it all and am a better woman because of the things I went through. If you are reading this blog, I suspect you survived as well (or if you some how did NOT survive but you are reading this blog… please do not let me know lol) and you are probably better off as well. The thing I’ve learned in my short life is that we do not get to CHOOSE our battles, we only get to choose if we are going to stand up and fight OR lay down and die. I think as long as you have breath in your body, you should fight.

Fight for a better life, fight for the happiness you deserve, and fight to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. Whether you are fighting extra pounds, depression, low self-esteem, financial troubles, relationship issues… whatever you are fighting, don’t become discouraged. 2013 is giving each of you NEW chance to be the SAME YOU with a NEW perspective. I’m sure you are already an amazing person, so all you really need to do is get your mind re-focused and develop some new goals for yourself.

Now, back to my point. In order to make a change in your life, you do not have to wait for something miraculous to happen. You can bloom where you are planted. That means, you can be the amazing woman or man (if I have any male readers) you would like to be without anything in your environment changing. The ONLY thing needed for a miraculous change in your life, is a changed mind. I, too, have to remember that I do not need anything that I do not have at this moment to reach my goals. If I make use of what I have currently, I can accomplish anything I attempt.

Want to lose weight, but can’t afford a gym membership? Take an extra walk around the neighborhood,  jump rope, do push ups, check out sparkpeople.com or any of the numerous free sites that provide FREE online exercise videos. (I’m guessing you already have the internet if you are reading this blog.)
Want to find love? Give love. Be more social, go out more, use what you have. But, be safe. There are crazy people out there. 🙂
Feeling lonely? Get involved in your community. Volunteer. Find someone lonelier than you and be their friend.
You get the point.

What steps can you take to make the most of what you have right now until you get what you actually want?

You may find that you do not need that ______ ( insert “longed for” item) to be happy. Maybe if you cleaned and decorated the house you have (instead of day dreaming of the day you get a mansion), washed the car you currently drive (instead of going broke leasing a new one), or spent time with the people in your life who love you (instead of chasing down someone who doesn’t care about you), you’d find that everything you wanted was already within your reach.

For this month of January, I challenge you all to make the MOST of what you have and see if it makes a difference in your attitude, outlook, or life. Then, let me know about it!

Well, That’s what I plan to do. I expect 2013 to be the BEST year I’ve had so far… and I’ve had some pretty amazing years.

Cheers,
CuteCurlyCurvy

p.s. None of these 2013 pictures are mine. 😉 Just random google search.
